  1. Oct 4 1991:  Fixed bug in rz crash recovery.

  3. Sep 1991: Major hacking to work around SVR4 bug.  Append and crash
  4. recovery of shrinking files corrected.  Sz now supports rename.
  5. Sz -c changed to zcommand, rx -c file changed to rc file.

  7. Feb 1991: various corrections and simplifications.  Sz now
  8. stores critical error messages for post mortem display.

  10. The Man pages are formatted for those without Unix nroff.
  11. For best results, use less(1) (available on comp.sources.misc)
  12. as your manual page reader.

  14. VMS systems are now supported with native VMS versions in
  15. RZSZ.TLB.  The rz and sz in RZSZ.TLB support wild cards and
  16. VMS record types.

  18. May 1989: Corrections for undefined variable and multiply
  19. defined rdchk() on some systems.

  21. New for 1989: ZMODEM compression and other compatible
  22. extensions have been added to the rz and sz programs.

  28. The contents of RZSZ.ZOO can be uploaded to a Unix or Xenix
  29. system by ZCOMM or Professional-YAM using the supplied zupl.t
  30. script.  Connect to your Unix/Xenix system, select an empty
  31. directory, and then give the YAM/ZCOMM command: "source
  32. zupl.t".  This will upload minirb.c, compile it, and then use
  33. minirb to upload the rz/sz files.

  35. Once these files are on your Unix system, you can type "make".
  36. The Makefile will list the various systems it knows how to
  37. compile the programs for, and the command to do so (e.g.,
  38. "make bsd").

  40. The Makefile is self explanatory; just say "make".

  42. Naturally, rz and sz work best with comm programs that seamlessly
  43. support ZMODEM command and file AutoDownload (Pro-YAM and ZCOMM).
  44.  
  45. The "GSZ" shareware program allows ZMODEM file transfers with
  46. traditional DOS comm programs, but it must be called manually.
  47. (The computer should do that for you!) GSZ provides a "mini
  48. term function" that supports ZMODEM AutoDownload.  GSZ (part
  49. of GSZ.ZIP) and ZCOMM (ZCOMMEXE.ZIP, ZCOMMDOC.ZIP,
  50. ZCOMMHLP.ZIP) are available on TeleGodzilla and other fine
  51. bulletin boards.

  54. exact error messages displayed by Professional-YAM.
